Pallavi Agarwal Appointed to UMD Foundation Board of Trustees

College Park, MD – June 12, 2024 – Pallavi Agarwal, a distinguished University of Maryland alumna and the founder and CEO of Kander Consult, has been elected to the University of Maryland College Park Foundation Board of Trustees. Agarwal, along with four other esteemed alumni, will begin her three-year term on July 1, 2024.

As a trustee, Agarwal will play a vital role in governing the investment and distribution of private gifts to UMD, advocating for the institution, and advising the university's president. Her appointment highlights her extensive experience and commitment to philanthropy, as evidenced by her support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia, DC Admin Community Leader for Salesforce, and Lean In D.C. Additionally, Agarwal established the Drs. Pushpa and Kamal Agarwal Foundation Maryland Promise Scholarship in honor of her parents.

Jim Harris, Vice President for University Relations and President of the Foundation, expressed confidence in the new trustees, stating, “This cohort of new trustees will join an esteemed group of Terps offering their time and expertise to ensure our foundation board can fulfill its fiduciary role and strategic goals in the years ahead.”

Agarwal graduated from UMD in 2005 with a degree in marketing and business. She furthered her education with an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, and a certification in industrial and product design from Stanford.
